Work in New Zealand

After meeting your new travel family, it’s a day of exploring (yay) and life admin (boo). We make the morning as fun as possible, taking you on a walking tour to see the sights and discover the best places to grab coffee, food and drinks. While we’re out, we’ll swing by the bank to get you set up with your bank account, get your local SIM card and cover off what you need to get your IRD (tax) number sorted.

The afternoon is free to explore with new mates, meeting up later that night for drinks on the waterfront.

Feeling blurry after the welcome drinks? We’ve got you. Have an easy morning before we get down to business that afternoon. You’ll attend our job workshop to get your CV Kiwi employer ready, run over what type of work is available, and we’ll start to assist you with finding a job. We also run a travel session with heaps of inspo about what to see and how to get around. 

As a reward for all the hard work, we head down to the harbour for fish and chips.

Today you’ll get the ferry to one of Auckland’s most iconic sites, Rangitoto Island. Exploring the lava fields, caves and historic Bach community of Rangitoto is a must-do for locals and travellers. Finish off the day back in Auckland with sunset drinks.

• Ferry to Rangitoto Island (can be substituted for the Auckland Sky Tower in winter)

Three hours north of Auckland, the Bay of Islands is a subtropical paradise of 144 islands, wildlife-filled waters and historic Māori culture. After stopping at Whangarei Falls, we roll into Paihia around midday. Check out the local beaches and trails surrounding Paihia, including New Zealand’s most historic location Waitangi - the ‘Birthplace of the Nation’- before a BBQ that night.

• 2 nights’ accommodation in Bay of Islands

Today, you’re on island time. With a free day to explore, opt for sailing trips, scuba diving, sea fishing, kayaking, dolphin swimming and more. Didn’t pack your sea legs? Explore the local nature trails, bush walks and beaches instead.

Inclusions:

• Free activities (beaches, bush walks, Project Island song)
• Paid activities (includes scuba diving, sea kayaking, Hole in the Rock, parasailing or fishing).

We finish on a high, heading further north to Kerikeri – Northland's largest town. After a morning of hiking and chasing waterfalls, we have lunch at the Old Packhouse Farmers’ Market, famous for its fresh produce and coffee. Travelling back to Auckland with new friends, our week ends. (Sob).

It’s not goodbye though, you’ll have access to our BUNAC team and job-hunting skills for your entire trip.

• Various hikes, Rainbow Falls, Haruru Fall. Accommodation on the last night isn’t included. Just let us know if you want us to book you any extra hostel nights.

Today you’ll leave the city and get the ferry to one of Auckland’s most iconic sites, Rangitoto Island. Exploring the lava fields, caves and historic Bach community of Rangitoto is a must-do for locals and travellers. We end our four days back in Auckland with farewell sunset drinks. 

It’s not goodbye though, you’ll have access to our job support for your entire trip.
